Delap is expected to be the subject of offers from bigger Premier League teams in the summer, even if Kieran McKenna's team stay up, but former Chelsea star Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has suggested he should avoid top clubs in case he gets stuck on the bench.

WHAT HASSELBAINK SAID

"With Delap, I know big clubs are looking at him. Ipswich look like they are going down," he told SunSport. "He needs to stay in the Premier League. If he’s playing in a more established Premier League team, what can he deliver? It’s important that he plays. If he’s going to be second choice — if I’m his agent, I’d advise him not to go."

Delap has been linked to the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United this season and has been backed to succeed Harry Kane as England's first choice striker.
